Back to School Jitters linky party

I just stumbled on this great blog by Jessica at A Turn to Learn. I've been reading through some of her posts and had to join up with her. She's been thinking about the beginning of the year - aren't we all? I'm so dang excited about this new year I just knew I had to link up.

Back to School Jitters Linky Party

I do need to warn you that I've been having school nightmares since the last day of school. They are the worst I've ever had. Oh, yes, there are still lockers without combinations and math finals and lost schedules, but there is more. The ante has been upped. Now there is vomiting, assault rifles and nudity. Sometimes all in the same dream. My favorite one was when I realized I had no clothes on while I was teaching, which prompted me to yell the f-bomb. I was promptly fired. No one mentioned my being naked.

So the big question remains...will I need to see the doctor for a sleeping aid soon? They seem to be getting more frantic as the year draws closer.

But how can I be having these awful dreams and still be so dang excited? Check it out....

Thanks for staying and listening to nervous/excited chatter. Now you should go check out Jessica's site. She's excited, too! (lots of good stories!!)

  1. Yay for 4th grade...I definitely need to remember about having fun! Sometimes it gets so lost in everything we have to do!

  2. My school dreams are crazy too!! I just commented to someone else that I just want school to start so my brain will be quiet already and let me sleep. :)

I'm just south of the Wisconsin/Illinois border, about 20 minutes from Lake Geneva! If you ever come down this way again you should stay for a while in Lake Geneva. Like I said, it is a really cute and fun town!

    1. The dreams must be a sign that we are so passionate about our jobs that we need to process all night long :)

I'd love to go back and explore the Lake Geneva area. Maybe we'll plan a future camping trip down there!

  3. I am a BRAND spankin' new teacher this year, and I am having all of the same nightmares! I'll be teaching 4th-6th grade, and I'm nervous about the curriculum, too. Here's to hoping we both rock it this year!

  7. Heather...I love your comments and joy! Staches and owls...LOVE! My son designed mustached owls for me...I'm going to try sending them to you so you may use how ever you would like! 4th graders are the BEST! They are old enough to work independently, but young enough to adore their teacher!! (Please don't tell my firsties I said that!)
