Techie Classroom Cool Tool - Comic Life

I wanted to share with you my cartoon form.

I love my cartoon me!!

I found this cartoon written out on a piece of poster board. My girls love to draw, and graphic novels are one of their favorite genres. This fits the bill for a lot of students, too. My Fab 4s love graphic novels, and they are in heaven if they get 5 minutes of free drawing time.

This is the perfect time to share one of my favorite techie classroom cool tools:

Comic Life is not a free tool; it is a software program that you have to purchase. You can, however, download a full version free to use for one month. It's worth it to check it out and see how you could use it in your classroom.

Comic Life is a comic/graphic novel making program.

You can choose different templates

and different text options

and can be used in many different contexts. We made a Character Traits Comic last year in first grade.

This is a flexible tool that your students will love.

Techie Classroom Cool Tool - Flip It

Whenever I need a cool tool I hook up with my go-to girls, Bails and Liv.  They turned me onto this iApp called Flip It. It's a simple app that uses stop frame animation to create flip book-type movies. I created the following movies on my iPad while watching a movie. Bailey creates them on her iTouch.

I can see using it for word work...

spelling...

vocabulary...

It's quick, it's easy and it's free (for limited use). Love it? Upgrade the $1.99 price tag and you have unlimited youtube uploads and videos you can make.

This is definitely a cool tool worth checking out.

Cool Tool - AutoRap

You must check this out.

Lulu turned me onto this app for iAnythings. It's called AutoRap and is extremely easy to use. You speak into the app and it it turns whatever you say into a rap, complete with background music.

Lulu and I practiced some different classroom applications this morning. This one is my favorite, and I plan on using it next week with the Fab 4's for grammar. Lulu looked up adjectives and this rap is simply nothing more than a list of them.

My mind is reeling with the possibilities for this app.
